Directory Browsing is disabled on your virtual web server for security reasons. To make a particular page display when the root of your website or a given folder is browsed, name the files as shown in the list below. NOTE: The first file that the server finds (in the following priority) will be rendered to the client.

  1. default.htm for standard HTML
  2. default.html for standard HTML
  3. default.asp for Legacy Active Server Pages using JScript or VBScript
  4. default.aspx if you are using .Net in your pages
  5. index.htm for standard HTML
  6. index.html for standard HTML
  7. index.asp for Legacy Active Server Pages using JScript or VBScript
  8. index.aspx if you are using .Net in your pages

This schema makes it easy to disable server side code pages (ASP/ASP.Net) if you are having a problem. Just drop a static default.htm page in place and you can work through your bugs wihout having to have the rest of the world see that you are testing something. When you have your ASP or ASP.Net file working correctly, just remove or rename the default.htm to something else.
